Quinn Barnette '18 is a biology major with a minor in public health. He decided on UNC Charlotte and the Levine Scholarship for the career preparation, service and international experiences afforded to the scholars. Quinn enjoys Charlotte and loves the endless opportunities the city provides. As a 49er, he embraces being part of a community that believes in progress and change. Quinn has immersed himself in all that UNC Charlotte has to offer and especially enjoys the time he spends conducting research with one of his favorite professors.
Quinn has served as treasurer of UNC Charlotte's community garden and was on the catering and fundraising committees for Charlotte Dance Marathon. Quinn also served on the leadership committee for the Undergraduate Research Conference, where he received first place for his sociology study. He has traveled all over the world, studying in South Africa, Israel and Costa Rica. Quinn has a deep interest in food insecurity and is currently planning a civic engagement project to employ sustainable food practices in Charlotte.
