Erin Coggins '18 is double majoring in social work and communication studies. The professional development, summer experiences and close-knit community drew Erin to the Levine Scholars Program and UNC Charlotte. "Being a part of this diverse 49er community means that I am constantly improving and pursuing my goals and aspirations." Erin enjoys going to school close to home and has continued working with the nonprofit with which she interned, Present Age Ministries, the summer after her freshman year.
In addition to serving as a morale leader for Charlotte Dance Marathon, Erin is a student leader for Impact Charlotte and a member of the Bachelor’s of Social Work Club and the Communication Studies Student Association. She cites studying abroad in Stellenbosch, South Africa as one of the highlights of her college experience. Inspired by her volunteer work with Present Age Ministries and SHE Rescue Home, Erin is using her civic engagement grant to provide direct services and basic necessities to survivors of sex trafficking.
