Larry Lardieri, of Asheville, NC, will graduate in December 2018 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering.  During his time at UNC Charlotte, Larry was a teaching assistant and member of the UNCC Cycling Club.  Larry will spend summer 2018 cycling more than 4,000 miles across the country and supporting affordable housing causes with Bike & Build. “Taking the step forward into UNC Charlotte has propelled me forward in ways I could not have imagined. This combined with the strong relationships I’ve made here speak to the immense opportunities Charlotte has to offer,” he reflected. Larry interned at Goodwill Industries of the Southern Piedmont where he helped clients to reenter the workforce. He spent his third summer studying abroad in Paris and Toulouse France as well as assisting with graduate research at UNC Charlotte’s Department of Mechanical Engineering. He spent his fourth summer and following fall semester as a design intern with Honda R&D Americas Inc. Larry stated, “The Levine Scholars Program has given me the opportunity to write my own ticket, giving me the freedom and support follow the path that felt right for me. I was able to contribute to causes that mattered to me, as well as get the real world experience I needed to pursue a fascinating career.” Upon completing his undergraduate degree, Larry hopes to land a position as a design engineer.
