Sydney Welch

Hometown: Morganton, NC

As an Accounting major and Legal Studies minor, Sydney Welch ’19 plans to attend law school after graduation.  Although she comes from Morganton, NC, Sydney says the moment she stepped on campus for Finalist Weekend she felt at home. 

Sydney has invested much of her time at UNC Charlotte into her Civic Engagement Grant Project – Not In My City, an initiative to train local college students to raise awareness for survivors of human trafficking. She spent the summer of 2017 studying abroad in Shanghai, China and will spend the summer of 2018 in Stellenbosch, South Africa.  Sydney volunteers at Ronald McDonald House and competes on the University’s club swim team.
