Katie Finch, of Winston-Saelm, NC, graduated in May 2018 with a degree in International Business and minors in Women’s and Gender Studies, and Children’s Literature and Children’s Studies. Upon graduation, Katie plans to work in the nonprofit field in New York City until pursuing a graduate degree in Global Gender Studies. During her time at UNC Charlotte, Katie founded and served as president to the student organization Tan Kap Vini, which provided educational services to foster families in Charlotte. “Being able to create and manage a community-oriented organization allowed me to work with some of the most inspiring people UNC Charlotte has to offer. Together, we created a team dedicated to making a meaningful difference in the lives of foster children in Charlotte.” She was also involved with Charlotte Dance Marathon, where she served as chair of the Family Relations Committee. As a Levine Scholar, Katie interned with Communities in Schools and Wine To Water. She also studied abroad at the American Business School in Paris. “Being able to tie in so many diverse experiences and areas of study allowed me to really create an educational path that fit my goals and aspirations throughout my undergraduate experience,” said Katie.
